Valentine’s Day and Roses – Which color and how many?

The Color of the Rose Matters!

Red? Are you in love already? Whether or not you’ve expressed your love is a different matter, but if you are in love, send red roses. They say, “I Love You.”

Pink? Are you happy and thankful that someone is in your life? Do you want to say “Thank you”? If yes, go for dark pink roses. You can also go for lighter pink, but not the lightest, for they’d express condolences or sympathy. You don’t want your roses to say that on Valentine’s day, unless there’s a reason for it. You can also send pink roses to make up after a tiff 🙂

Yellow? If you are more friends than lovers, send yellow roses. You can combine yellow roses with red or dark pink roses too, for friendship often strengthen love.

Lavender? If you are falling in love with someone, gift lavender roses. These would be the right color roses to gift when are hoping that your love will be reciprocated, but you aren’t sure yet. So lavender roses could be your messengers of love to your love-interest.

White? White signifies purity and innocence. You can combine white roses with roses of any other color, and it would symbolize continuity and unity.

Definitely black – if at all you can find it. Black signifies sadness and more specifically mourning.

If you are not yet an item, it’s a good idea to not send orange roses to a woman because it signifies that you “desire” her. Generally speaking, women like to know that they are desired, only after they know that they are cherished.

5 Original Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Him :)

Here are 5 mint-fresh Valentine’s Day gift ideas for him 🙂

1. Buy a book that he’d like to read, and write short and sweet love messages on random pages. (If he is a techie, find him a book on the language that he programs in – I am in love with a programmer, and I know that this works.) Wrap it up beautifully and present it to him. It’s a good idea to tell him that he must not loan the book before he has read it 🙂
2. Buy a beautiful bottle of cologne. Empty it into another normal bottle. Write a love-message telling him that he doesn’t need a cologne to smell good to you. Now make a really thin roll of the message and push it inside (but not completely or he’ll never get to reading it.) Gift wrap the bottle and give it to him along with the cologne (just in case, he really does need it ;-))
3. Create a blog, pour your heart out, mark it private, and share it with him. Alternatively, keep it public and tell the whole world how much you love him.
4. Get a caricaturist to draw your caricatures portraying both of you doing something funny. For instance, if you are just starting out, you could get a sketch that shows you both on his bike/in a car… if you want to really get one done, pay a visit to Shafali’s Caricatures.
5. And as an add-on…

If you are wondering how you can make an indeliable impression on the girl of your dreams, here are 5 original ideas to set her heart aflutter.

1. Buy a romantic book. Browse through its pages. Find the most romantic statements and underline them. You can also add your own feelings on random pages. Wrap it in a Valentine’s Day wrapping paper, and write on the cover, “for your eyes only.” Gift her the book. You’ll know when she has read it.
2. Send her a box shaped like a heart containing a tiny slip with the message, “This is my heart, and it’s empty. I want you to live in it forever.”
