True Love Story 1 – Patrick creates NYGirlofMyDreams and Finds Camille :)

NYGirlofMyDreams

(A True Love-Story)

You may have heard or read about Patrick’s love-story, but I hadn’t.  I chanced upon this link  on the Reader’s Digest site, and I was smitten. This story is about a young man who thought of a novel way of finding the girl of his dreams.

Here’s this short and sweet love-story, in my words – presenting the images that formed in my mind as I went through the above link.

Patrick threw away the blanket, leaped out of the bed. He had an idea.

He rushed to his table and pulled out his sketchbook from under the huge untidy pile of papers and books. Some of the books caught the momentum and flew off the desk, as did a few papers, and his box of color-pencils. He’d pick them up later. Right now, he had to do something that was a lot more important. Sketch her. He pulled his chair, caught a pencil that was about to roll off the table, and opened the sketchbook…and then it hit him. His scanner wasn’t working. So what? He was a web-designer and he had Photoshop – the God of all image-editing applications!

So, he began drawing. It was a basic drawing, but it had all the information. The yellow flower in her partly braided hair, the light-blue shorts over the dark-blue slacks, and the notebook too. The notebook that she was scribbling something in. What was she scribbling? This wasn’t the time to ask questions – perhaps there would be a time…perhaps he’d find her.

He had lost his heart to her when he had seen her at the Union Square subway station in New York City. He and she had gotten on the same train – but then she disappeared in the crowd that got into the train at the Bowling Green station. He couldn’t follow her. That would be stalking and Patrick wouldn’t do something as crass as that. He didn’t know then that her name was Camille and that she was an Australian. But he had carried home a picture of this pretty girl with a flower in her hair, and it was this picture that will help him find her.

Up came a new website called nygirlofmydreams.com, and along came a spate of information and a flood of women infatuated with this romantic man. Luckily for him and perhaps for her too, Camille’s friend came to know about this website, and he got in touch with Patrick.

So Patrick found Camille. There first meeting happened on Good Morning America…(weird?)… and this is how they look together.

This is how we tell ourselves that true loves shows us the way…or why would Patrick think of putting up a website, why would the website go viral, and why would it be seen by Camille’s friends?

Do you think not?

I think you don’t 🙂

Important Note. This story is based on real-events (refer to the links). However, the story is the author’s visualization and narration. If you like this story, pass it around to people in love. Let them know that when love waves its magic wand, you’ll discover ways to find the prince or the princess of your dreams.

The Greatest Love-stories told with added sugar and spice…coming soon to this blog :)

Folks,

February is about to welcome March to this blog. March brings spring along. In my humble opinion, March and April are the months when love really and truly blooms. Actually, there’s no season or time for love, it’s just that when nature herself is at her prettiest best, you feel more like celebrating love.

In these months, I’ll bring you the best love-stories of the world. I won’t copy-and-paste them from anywhere, because I hate cheating whether in love or in writing. So I’ll write them for you – and if there’s time, I’ll even sketch those two loving souls for you.

If you want these stories to land in your inbox, just click the subscribe button in the right sidebar.

That’s all for now 🙂

I’ll be back with the first story in a couple of days.

Now go, give a kiss to your love. Remember, love thrives when expressed 🙂

– Nifty.

Yes,

Love Thrives when Expressed.

Love is all you need – a song by John Lennon

John Lennon of the Beatles sung this timeless song on June 25, 1967 – more than half a century ago. The message is clear. Love is omnipotent. It has the potential to make a difference to you life. While the lyrics appear to be somewhat twisty to me (and perhaps the mystery of its actual meaning gives the song its aura,) I believe its about love changing everything. “There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done” (for me it translates to “you can’t achieve the impossible”,) and then “but you can learn how to play the game. It’s easy…all you need is love.” (my interpretation is “but perhaps you can learn to achieve the impossible…if only you had love.”

Here are those meaningful lyrics. Let me know what they mean to you 🙂

Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love

There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It’s easy

Nothing you can make that can’t be made
No one you can save that can’t be saved
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time
It’s easy

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Nothing you can know that isn’t known
Nothing you can see that isn’t shown
Nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be
It’s easy

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

I am not adding the rest of it here. You can find the complete lyrics of “All you Need is Love” here.

The Continuity of Love…

They say,

The continuity of love,
is the blessing of some.

But this blessing was only a seed,
when it was given to them.

They nurtured it with tears,
they fed it their fears,
they mended each-other’s broken hearts,
and lived through pain that sears.

Look again…

The continuity of love,
is a blessing of everyone.

This blessing is a seed,
don’t let it rot, don’t let it die.

You can grow it into a strong tree,
It will then make you free.
You must be always there for each other,
Only then will your love forever be.

The Day After Valentine’s Day – What does it spell for you?

  • Contentment?
  • Bliss?
  • Longing?
  • Disappointment?
  • Anger?
  • Loneliness?

Love doesn’t happen because of Valentine’s Day nor does it die because of it. If you are feeling happy, content, and blessed – it’s because love existed before Valentine’s Day – in your hearts and lives. Valentine’s Day just happened along the way and brought along ways and means of expression.

On the other hand, if it didn’t go well for you, there could be myriad reasons for it:

Think about it:

Expectations belied due to:

  • Absentmindedness (trust me on this.)
  • Lack of seriousness (this could be more serious.)
  • An unethical rival on the scene, or even
  • A lack of true love.

The first three should be handled – the third with some care. The last one should be acknowledged. It’s a signal for you to move on. Being single again can be a bliss as it gives you an opportunity to find true love. And remember that Valentine’s Day too will be back again, next year.

In the meantime, follow this blog; because love isn’t going anywhere and neither am I. If you’d like to connect, leave a comment 🙂

5 Best Love-Quotes – but nothing sums up the bliss of being in Love.

Here are Five Love-Quotes that make a lot of sense. So if you are in love, read, understand, interpret, and enjoy 🙂

”All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.” – Charles M. Schulz

Absolutely Mr. Schulz! I won’t mind a little chocolate too…along with some flowers and a promise of forever love 🙂

“Love is the irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.” – Mark Twain

I have a feeling that Mark Twain must’ve said this (or written it) in a moment of amazing lucidity.

”There is a place you can touch a woman that will drive her crazy. Her heart.” – Melanie Griffith

It begins funny, and makes you wonder what Ms. Griffith could be driving at. I guess this was her motive, but then what she said makes perfect sense.

“The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart.” – Helen Keller

Yes, and love is best among those beautiful things.

“When you love someone, you love the person as they are, and not as you’d like them to be.” – Leo Tolstoy

And when you love someone even more, you’ll help them overcome their short-comings without ever becoming critical. Now that’s the tough part 🙂

End Note:

When you are in love, you desire someone, and then you desire someone to desire you back. It’s quite simple actually, but every once in a while, a rival-in-love tries to throw a spanner in the works. (Yes, I am talking about the Valentine’s Day game “My Love My Valentine.” If you are in love and if you own an iPad, do click this link and check it out – it’s a magical game – an experience created for you by two souls who’ve been in love forever. If you like original thought and if you are truly in love, I have a feeling, you’ll enjoy this game of love, romance, and rivalry. )

Valentine’s Day and Roses – Which color and how many?

Want to send roses to your sweetheart? You really must read this 🙂

The Color of the Rose Matters!

Red? Are you in love already? Whether or not you’ve expressed your love is a different matter, but if you are in love, send red roses. They say, “I Love You.”

Pink? Are you happy and thankful that someone is in your life? Do you want to say “Thank you”? If yes, go for dark pink roses. You can also go for lighter pink, but not the lightest, for they’d express condolences or sympathy. You don’t want your roses to say that on Valentine’s day, unless there’s a reason for it. You can also send pink roses to make up after a tiff 🙂

Yellow? If you are more friends than lovers, send yellow roses. You can combine yellow roses with red or dark pink roses too, for friendship often strengthen love.

Lavender? If you are falling in love with someone, gift lavender roses. These would be the right color roses to gift when are hoping that your love will be reciprocated, but you aren’t sure yet. So lavender roses could be your messengers of love to your love-interest.

White? White signifies purity and innocence. You can combine white roses with roses of any other color, and it would symbolize continuity and unity.

The Number of Roses Matter too!

And what about the number of roses you send? (Combine the number with the color to discover what you must send.)

  • 1 Rose = loyalty and devotion.
  • 2 Roses = Let us come together (marriage?)
  • 11 Roses = Deep forever love
  • 12 Roses = Love coupled with admiration
  • 13 Roses = A secret admirer
  • 24 Roses = I’m crazy about you (think about you night and day)

Which is the rose that you should stay away from?

Definitely black – if at all you can find it. Black signifies sadness and more specifically mourning.

If you are not yet an item, it’s a good idea to not send orange roses to a woman because it signifies that you “desire” her. Generally speaking, women like to know that they are desired, only after they know that they are cherished.

That’s all I have on roses 🙂 My Love My Valentine the iPad game of love, romance, rivalry, and courtship arrives on the App Store tomorrow. Do stop by the App Store to check it out, and download it on your iPad – you may want to send your sweetheart 54 original love messages, each with a single red rose 🙂

A single red rose means Forever Love.
